DHIKALA PHOTOGRAPHY TOUR

invites you to its Dhikala Photography Workshop in Corbett National Park, home to over 160 Royal Bengal Tigers, herds of elephants, and more than 600 species of birds and a multitude of other life forms. Dream destination for nature photographers, Corbett National park offers numerous visual opportunities for capturing magical images of elusive wild species in pristine habitat; the land of the roars, trumpets and songs.

The workshop is a unique learning opportunity for amateur, budding and aspiring nature photographers and naturalist to explore the unique wilderness in the Himalayan foothills. Participants will get photography tips and guidance from ace nature-photographers, naturalists and seasoned wildlife guides as they help you unfold the mysteries of Corbett and carry home frames of timeless moments spent in nature’s lap.

Tour Itinerary

DAY 00: Thursday,
Participants assemble at Old Delhi Railway Station to board 25013 Ranikhet Express, scheduled to depart at 21:30 hrs.for Ramnagar.

DAY 01 : Friday
Arrival at Ramnagar at 04:55 hrs and head straight to Dhikala Rest House Complex in Corbett National Park via Dhangarhi Gate. After an hour long drive through morning mist dense Sal forest, check-in at the forest rest-house at Dhikala. An enthralling session about wildlife and photography by wildlife photographer Amrit Pal Singh and nature photographer Rishi Mathur, followed by lunch. Enjoy the luxury of some quite time to orient yourself with natural surroundings of the resort, before going out on another safari later in the afternoon, armed with camera and binoculars into the territory of the elusive tiger. Return to the secured premises of Dhikala campus within the electric fencing to relax and share your adventures of the day with group members and other tourists while listening to the sounds of wilderness.

DAY 02: Saturday
Early start of the day finds you on the trails of the tiger in the jungle and grassland areas where encounters with herds of wild elephants add to the thrills of watching animals in their natural habitat. On the quest to locate tigers following their pugmarks and alarm calls of other animals, the drive takes you through the Sambhar Road, Ram Singh Road and Thandi Sadak, each having their own legends about the king of the jungle. Ram Singh Road along the Ramganga River is also known as the favourite haunt of various waders, raptors and seed-eaters alike, offering numerous opportunities to watch different species of fishing eagles, falcons, vultures, owls and other birds of prey in action. Grasslands in Corbett are teeming with several hundred species of insectivores, seed-eaters and birds that feast on fruit and nuts.

DAY 03 : Sunday
This third day of CorbettCam will be dedicated the elephants and deer; Chital, sambhar, barking deer and hog deers. So, after having tea, we’ll head straight towards the Chaur by the Ramganga. Steering through the morning mist, there are ample chances of catching glimpses of the denizens in silhouettes or highlighted by the stray rays piercing through haze and shadows. While shooting In the earlier part of the day, one may encounter pythons basking in the sun, or gaggles of Greylag geese along the banks of Ramganga flowing through the chaur. A quick drive back to Dhikala Rest House for breakfast; followed by another dash into the verdant forests in the jeep, for another sojourn into the world of the wild. Several winged hunters also visit the Corbett during colder months, including the Osprey, the Peregrine Falcon, the Booted Hawk- Eagle and the Steppe Eagle. Or the fabled Collared Falconet that preys upon birds as much as four times larger. Levels of activity increase as the sun warms up, and one may even capture these raptors making a kill on our post-lunch safari which usually concludes with sun down.

DAY 04 : Monday
In the morning, wake up a bit early and having your morning tea, start your last jeep and most exciting gypsy safari of the Corbett Tour. Encounter the majestic tiger in its natural habitat around Thandi Road, Ramsingh Road, Champion Road and in the vast grasslands. During summer season you will also encounter herds of elephants as you travel on gypsy safari. After being through with this thrilling gypsy safari, return to Dhikala for breakfast. Now, its time to pick the bags and check out from our rooms in Dhikala, though we still have something in store for our participants; a safari in Bijrani, another area of the park. On our way to Bijrani, we drive through the lush forest with fair chances of encountering the denizens. Leaving the park area through Dhangarhi gate, we’ll take you to Corbett Motel, situated in a mango orchard on the outskirts of Ramnagar city for a sumptuous lunch. After lunch, we’ll take a u-turn to the wild, and drive through to Bijrani, a different range of the park. In Bijrani, we’ll take you to Aamsot, a natural spring amid a wild mango grove, known for its much lower temperature than the surrounding areas. We’ll pass through High Banks and Kichaar, both of which are good tiger sighting zones in the Bijrani Range of the park. On this safari too, the quest for watching wildlife continues till sunset, when it’s time to leave the park and rush to refresh with a cup of tea, followed by dinner. Time for the check out and drive towards home.

  • Any optional or extra accommodation
  • Anything not mentioned in the itinerary

Terms & Conditions:

  • We require copies of ID Proofs at the time of booking.
  • All bookings will be confirmed on advance payment basis.
  • Any change in entrance fees or taxes will be borne by the guest.
  • Changes in policies by Ranthambore national Park authorities will be intimated and binding on guests.
  • Changes on status of bookings should be intimated 50 days before the date of departure.
  • No refund will be admissible to guests who shorten the duration of proposed package.
  • Guests are required to carry the Booking Confirmation Voucher on their person throughout.
  • All bookings are on twin/triple sharing basis.

  • Responsibilities for their belongings rest with the guests.
  • Wildlife Destination will not be liable for any damages except the booking amount in case of tour cancellation due to state emergencies or natural calamities.
  • Booking should be 60 days in advance of event.

CANCELLATION POLICY

  • All cancellations before 60 days of the event date – 100% refund
  • All cancellations between 50 days of the event date – 50% refund
  • All cancellations within 45 days of the event date – No refund possible
