Welcome To Rajaji National Park

Rajaji National Park is an eco-tourism destination in Uttarakhand, offering a wonderful wildlife viewing experience with its diverse ecosystem that supports a wide variety of flora and fauna.

It covers an area of 820.43 sq km. Take a jungle safari in our Jeep and get to know the wildlife of Rajaji Park closely.

Rajaji National Park was named after the freedom fighter C. Rajagopalachari or first and last Governor-General of independent India. In 1983, the government combined three sanctuaries Chilla, Motichur, and Rajaji into one national park.

Later on 15 April 2015, it became the 48th Tiger Reserve of India after that it was known as Rajaji Tiger Reserve. The main aim of the reserve is to protect and grow the tiger population.

🐘 Did you know? Rajaji National Park is part of the Shivalik Elephant Reserve, one of the last strongholds for Asian elephants in Northwest India.

Best Time to Visit Rajaji

The best time to visit Rajaji National Park is from November to June. It is the perfect time for birdwatching and wildlife safaris. In winter, from November to February the cool weather makes it easier to spot animals like elephants, tigers, and leopards. From March to June, it warms up, but you can still see wildlife around water sources.

* The park is closed during the monsoon season from July to October due to heavy rains.

Flora and Fauna in Rajaji

The park has different ecosystems, such as forests, grasslands, and river areas, which provide important habitats for plants and animals. Here’s a simple look at the flora and fauna.

Tiger spotting in Ranthambore

09/03/2025

Two days, first day zone 10 morning and zone 6 afternoon in a jeep, we were dissapointed we did not see Tigers. But others did in zone 6 but in the morning. …. that is wildlife for you.

Following day zone 3 morning and zone 2 afternoon, both in a canter which I was dubious of..

But a great day, a big male in the morning from about 60 metres then in the afternoon very close to a young female bathing and then walking around. This was a long sighting with great views from the canter. Lastly on top of all the other wildlife we had a great view of a Sloth Bear (Baloo).

We loved it thanks to Rakesh for organising tours.

Ranthambore is stunning

Incredible Experience with Ranaji in Ranthambore

26/02/2025

Our safari experience in Ranthambore was truly unforgettable, and much of that is thanks to our exceptional tour guide Ranaji! From the moment we met, we knew we were in good hands. He was not only incredibly knowledgeable about the park’s wildlife, but he also had an infectious passion for conservation, which made the experience even more meaningful.

Throughout the safari, he shared fascinating facts about the tigers, birds, and other wildlife, helping us spot creatures we might have missed on our own. His keen eye for detail and expert knowledge ensured that we had front-row seats to the beauty of the park. He also took the time to answer all our questions with patience and enthusiasm, making us feel like we were learning from a true expert.

What stood out most was his commitment to giving us a safe, respectful, and sustainable wildlife experience. We never felt rushed, and he made sure we were always mindful of the animals and their environment.

If you’re planning a trip to Ranthambore, I highly recommend booking a tour with this Ranaji. It truly made all the difference in making our visit so memorable!

Amazing hospitality, Exceptional service

26/02/2025

We were a group of 13 people. We all had an amazing time! The service was extremely timely and accommodating. The food was tasty and they accommodated all our dietary choices (Veg / Non Veg / Jain). The safaris were booked by Ranaji and he made sure they were booked in zones having the maximum chance of tiger spotting. We were able to spot 10 tigers in a span of 3 safaris, which was extremely lucky on our part. Ranaji made sure we had the best time at our safaris! Will definitely recommend you to book through him, you will not be disappointed.

Safari at Ranthambore National Park

26/02/2025

We booked a 2 day safari trip to the Ranthambore national park which allowed us to experience 3 safaris. Naval who arranged our safaris managed for us to visit some of the better zones between 1-5 and we were lucky to see quite a few tigers. One of the sightings involved 4 tigers who were hunting deer. It is worth doing several safaris as you may not see any and it increases your chances, but that’s nature. We stayed in a lovely hotel and our driver Siyam was great too, letting us leave later to visit the fort which Naval and Siyam joined us on. It was a lovely trip and one we would happily repeat. Thank-you

Exceptional 3 days!

26/02/2025

My daughter and I recently participated in the “3 days Adventures Ranthambore Wildlife Safari Tour from Delhi with 3 Safari Rides”. Our tour was very much exceptional from start to finish, and we’ll always remember the very competent and kind people who made it all happen. Our trusted driver, Balveer, kept us safe on the roads and on schedule throughout. Super friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable, he tended to our every need and request, and went above and beyond with a steady supply of snacks and drinks kept out for us at all times. He was able to seamlessly arrange for a visit of Amer Palace with an English-speaking guide on our requested short detour through Jaipur, as well as an experience with elephants at the sanctuary near there. Once at our very lovely Ranthambore Heritage Haveli hotel, literally all staff took care of our every anticipated need, including sending us with blankets on our early morning safaris in case the air was cool, which was the case. The 3 safaris, themselves, gave us lasting images of spectacularly varied wildlife and landscapes across the 3 safari zones we visited. We took the canter (vs. Jeep) safaris, which suited us perfectly as we were able to meet and exchange photos with others seated next to us. We were very fortunate to see one tiger, and we were very close. Bucket list – check! An incredible animal and an incredible memory. In addition, we saw many other animals, including a sloth bear, a leopard and cubs (from a distance), two types of deer, wild boars, peacocks, and monkeys. We benefited so much from the well-trained safari drivers and wildlife spotters. I highly recommend bringing a warm jacket and hat to cover your ears for the morning safaris. Depending which zone you’ll be going to, you may be driving for up to 20 minutes in an open air vehicle on the highway in the early morning, so add some wind to the equation. I never thought I’d say it, but even these Canadians were cold! There were people selling fleece hats at the beginning of the safari, and we also bought fleece jackets at our hotel gift shop after regretting not bringing something warmer to wear for the first morning safari. But at least we had blankets sent from the hotel, which definitely helped though they weren’t tight-fitting. Before heading back to Delhi, we requested to stop at a shop with goods crafted by local women, and were really pleased with the things we brought back home from there. We absolutely LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this tour and we very highly recommend it. Here’s hoping you’re as lucky on your safari as we were to see a tiger, and hopefully you’ll also see more! We met people who saw multiple tigers, and others who saw none. If only the tigers would go according to schedule. Ha! If only, right? This tour, though, definitely do it and enjoy like we absolutely did!
